Power Test Acquires Dynomite Dynamometer
Power Test Inc. is on a dynamometer acquisition run. The Sussex, Wis. manufacturer announced it has acquired the assets of DynoMite Dynamometer in New Hampshire, a manufacturer of engine and chassis dynamometers. The acquisition follows Power Test recently acquiring, moving, and integrating SuperFlow Technologies, formerly of Des Moines, Ia.

Sensors Introduces New Particulate Mass Measurement System for In-Use Testing
Sensors, Inc. today announced the launch of the SEMTECH PM2, an on-board vehicle emissions measurement system that combines real-time and cumulative particulate matter mass measurements. The system recently received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for use as an alternative method for heavy duty in-use compliance testing applications, as put forth in the US EPA 40 CFR part 1065 requirements.

On September 20th, Power Test Inc., a dynamometer and custom test stand manufacturer, completed the transaction to acquire SuperFlow Technologies/Hicklin Engineering. Power Test CEO Alan Petelinsek will be working closely with former owner and now General Manager Scott Giles in Des Moines, IA, along with Division Manager Dave Arsenault in Colorado Springs, CO, to integrate best practices between the companies, share resources, and build upon the tremendous engineering and manufacturing synergies between these industry leaders.

Rebuilding a 1995 LT1/LT4 Chevy V8 is school work for Brighton High School students
Stop me if you’ve heard this story before: a couple of guys get ahold of a tired late-model Chevy 350 V8 and decide to rebuild it into something with a bit more teeth. With the help of a more experienced engine builder, they spend about a year working on the block and heads and fi nally get a chance to test it on a dynamometer. When all is said and done, they manage to add 110 hp and 115 lb.-ft. of torque to the 20-year-old motor
